- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 ½ cups (297g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅛ tsp almond extract
- Orange and black sanding sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Mix flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
- Beat butter and sugar for 1 minute.
- Add egg and extracts. Beat for 30 seconds.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients.
- Roll dough balls in colored sugar.
- Place cookies 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes.
Notes
- Use room temperature butter for easier mixing.
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- For softer cookies, bake for 12 minutes.
