- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Layer the beef mixture in the baking dish, then top with potatoes. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle cheeses over the beef. Pour beef broth around the edges. Optionally, drizzle with milk.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat.
- For extra flavor, add diced bell peppers or mushrooms.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
