A sweet and tangy cranberry sauce with a hint of bourbon and honey, perfect for holiday meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (1 12-ounce bag) fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Juice of 1/2 orange
  • A pinch of salt and freshly ground pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a pot over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer until the cranberries burst (about 10 minutes).
  3. Continue cooking until the sauce reaches your desired thickness.
  4. Remove from heat and taste. Adjust sweetness with more honey if needed.
  5. Remove the rosemary sprigs and cinnamon stick.
  6. Let the sauce cool completely, then transfer to an airtight container.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to a week.
  8. Serve chilled, reheated, or at room temperature.

Notes

  • The sauce thickens as it cools.
  • Adjust honey to taste if too tart.
  • Store in the fridge for up to a week.
