- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1.5 sticks salted butter, melted (3/4 cup or 170 grams)
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup confectioners sugar (for topping)
- Additional 1/4 cup flour (for rolling out)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Combine sugar and butter using a hand mixer until fluffy.
- Add baking powder, egg, maple syrup, vanilla, almond extract, and cinnamon. Blend well.
- Gradually add flour, mixing about ½ cup at a time.
- Use your hands to form dough, then roll it out.
- Cut shapes with a cookie cutter or form moons by hand.
- Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake on the center rack for 9 minutes.
- Let cool on the sheet briefly before transferring to a rack.
- Once fully cooled, dust with confectioners sugar.

- Dough may appear crumbly at first — knead gently to bring together.
- Use extra flour when rolling to prevent sticking.
- For even baking, space cookies 2 inches apart.
