Ingredients
- Pizza crust – homemade or store-bought
- Tomato sauce – plain, unflavored
- Salt
- Pizza seasoning, Italian seasoning, or oregano
- Button mushrooms – 12 fresh, same size
- Grated pizza cheese
- Olive oil – a dash
- Black food coloring or food-grade active charcoal (optional)
Instructions
- Prep and clean mushrooms. Cut them in half.
- Punch two holes with a straw for eyes on the curved side.
- Press lines into the stem with a fork for teeth.
- Spread pizza dough into a rectangle and cut into 24 squares.
- Add tomato sauce, salt, and seasoning to each square.
- Place a mushroom skull on each square and sprinkle grated cheese around it.
- Drizzle with olive oil and bake.
Notes
- Use same-sized mushrooms for even cooking.
- For black dough, mix in food coloring or charcoal while kneading.
