- 1 small onion, diced

- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices of garlic bread, toasted
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to come together.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the beef mixture. Stir until the cheese is fully melted and incorporated.
- Brush the toasted garlic bread slices with melted butter. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture over each slice. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.

- Toast your garlic bread until it is firm enough to hold the beef mixture without getting soggy.
- You can swap ground beef for ground turkey if you prefer a leaner option.
- Skip the red pepper flakes if you are serving this to kids or anyone who prefers a milder flavor.
- Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting compared to pre-packaged shredded cheese.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat the beef mixture separately and spoon over fresh toasted bread.
