Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish with cooking spray.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage together until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, bell peppers, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened.
- Season the meat mixture with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Stir in the eggs and Parmesan cheese until fully mixed.
- Press the meat mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish to form the base of the pie.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the meat base.
- Layer the pepperoni slices on top of the sauce.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are set.
- Let the pie rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can swap ground beef for ground chicken or turkey to reduce fat content.
- Add your favorite pizza toppings like mushrooms, olives, or jalapeños.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Reheat slices in the oven at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes to keep the cheese from getting rubbery.
- This dish freezes well. Wrap individual slices and freeze for up to 2 months.
- Make sure to drain the meat well to avoid a watery pie.
